Mobile Application Redesign - clevergig

UX | UI, Native Mobile App Design

Project Context

Company: clevergig -

Company description: clevergig provides ad hoc scheduling software for temp agencies and staffing intermediaries in the Netherlands.  In addition to scheduling, agencies can use the clevergig software for many other things including tracking and approving work logs as well as generating reports.

Sector: SaaS, B2B

Year: 2022/2023

Collaboration with: CEO, CTO, CS, & development team

My role:  I was the sole designer on this project.  I was responsible for both the user experience, information architecture, and visuals.

The Challenge

Re-design an updated native mobile application for the clevergig customer's pool of workers.  The workers interacting with the application need an easy-to-use platform where they can accept and apply to work opportunities quickly.  The mobile app needs to be aligned with the new and more modern branding of clevergig, yet meet the needs of the workers who vary in age and technical capabilities.

How Might We

Update and improve the mobile application for the workers without sacrificing the ease of use that the current application offers.

Discover & Ideation

The Process

The research was gathered from surveys and feedback on the current apps to determine the mandatory features as well as any constraints.  Once the required features and initial IA was finalized, I drafted sketches of the screens for feedback.

After a few rapid sketching and feedback rounds, high-fidelity mockups were created, followed by more customer validation rounds in the form of usability tests.  I created a design system and worked with the developers to create detailed documentation of use cases.  Throughout the development, the developers and I worked together to address any issues or corner cases that arose and needed to be addressed.  We moved forward with a beautifully crafted, yet useful mobile app.

Current Status

The mobile apps are in the final stages of development and will be released to the public soon.  Due to the nature of this project, I am not able to show the exact deliverables.
